I have a question my computer keeps restarting and doesn't work. does any1 have any ideas of what i should do?

Answers:
Sure. It could be that you're overheating but it sounds like you may have a virius. I work in a computer repair shop and we see lots of crazy stuff like that. You might be able to repair it yourself. First, go to www.ewido.net and download the free trial version of ewido anti-malware. Second, go to www.avast.com, click the download link at the top of the page, then click the green circle. Follow the download prompts. Third, www.lavasoft.com and download AdAware SE for the home user. Last you will need to download Microsoft Defender. Go to www.microsoft.com and click right in the middle of the page where it says "protect your PC from spyware...... download for free". Ewido is a mal-ware removal tool, Avast is an AntiVirius, and AdAware and Defender are spyware removal tools. Run each program individually. With the problems your PC seems to be having, it may not be able to handle all of them at once. Get rid of everything each program finds. Then you will need to do all of your Windows updates. Go to www.update.microsoft.com/ and it will take over from there. This can take a while. Be PATIENT!! We've had computers take up to 20 hours to do a tuneup to... If you can do it yourself, you saved yourself a good amount of money. We charge $125 for this service. Good luck!! I hope this helps!

it sounds to me like it's overheating and shutting it's self off. get some better cooling in there.

reboot system delet lots uv unused programs if that duz not work than violently beat on ur keyboard until it duz
hit F8 button when the computer gets to the first "Windows" screen and start it in safe mode. take off anything u just installed or new hardware
Either you have a virus or you can try this:

1. Boot up with the WinXP CD and at the Setup Screen press the Enter Key.

2. You will be taken to the Windows XP Licensing Agreement. Press F8 to proceed.

3. The next screen gives you the option to do a fresh (clean) install or to repair
the selected Windows XP installation. To run a Repair Install press "R".

***CAUTION*** if you do not see the option to repair the selected Windows XP
installation DO NOT choose the option to continue installing a fresh copy without
repairing as that will overwrite your data and cause unrecoverable data loss.

4. If you originally installed XP with Service Pack 1 and later installed Service Pack 2, you will need to re-install Service Pack 2.

5. If you have any Microsoft Office products installed, you will need to re-activate
with the Product Key code. Contacting Microsoft may be required.
Just had this problem, apparently its a virus, had to reload windows, recieved operations systems discs from DeLL no problem!
Try booting into safe mode and doing a system restore back to a time when the computer worked normally. Instructions are in the two source articles.

Also, is the computer plugged into a surge protector, multiline outlet, or ups. If it is bypass it and plug directly into the wall and then see what happens. Some times its just that simple.
