Microsoft Windows Xp Recovery Console?

I'm trying to fix a computer that restarts continuously. I booted Recovery console and used the guidelines here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q310396/ when I type in step number 3 I get an error message: The system cannon find the file or directory specified....Can anybody help?
