I do not have messinger,but other people know I am on line I dont want them to know how to stop sailorman7cs?
I don't want people to know when I am online, example I play gin on yahoo games and under sailorman7cs, well somehow these people that I have played cards with before know whenever I sign on yahoo games and start e-mailing me using the yahoo messinger system, well I dont want people to know when i am online. I at one time was signed to the yahoo messinger service but I had trouble with it and thought I had removed myself from this service. All I want is my privacy, if I sign on to the yahoo games area I don't want someone who I have played cards with in the past to know that I am online. Can you help. The best thing that I do is first log in to messenger in invisible mode and then log in to yahoo games/launchcast or other services. That way I will not be appearing available to anyone including the people in my friends list.
But your problem seems to be that people who are not in your friends list are bothering you. (you do not have messenger so I guess you do not have one!) The solution to it is in messenger options.
[If its the same person again and again, then you can add him/her to your ignore list. Its easy, whenever you get an IM (instant message), there will be a link called Ignore too. This should solve the problem to a great extent.]
I tried to find the setting in Yahoo games but its not any help. I am afraid as of now, I have to suggest you to install yahoo messenger (or access it from somewhere else).
From list of menu options on top, select "messenger" option (the first to left), next its menu list, select "preferences", a new window will open. Next, go to "ignore list", and select the first option "ignore anyone who is not in my messenger list" this way, you will not receive any instant messages.
Again in the preferences, go to "privacy" and in the third section uncheck all of them. It means, that yahoo will not change your status when you are playing games or listening to launchcast.
These should surely work for you. They did for me!

well when you are in the gamin area, there is an options button, where it says... something like... let your friends see tha you are playing a game or something similar. Uncheck this.
i have faced the same problem. your best bet is to create another yahoo id.
but try this out.
options, then go to the options that says do not let others add me to their contact list w/o my knowledge...you also should do this in messenger and youre safe
Wat you can do is.. Login to your mail thru the browser and then there is something like... My Account (just beside Sign Out) .. It prompts for a password.. Once you are done.. it will list out the number of profiles that you have.. Selcect the profile.. where there is a check box where you check and forget.. Bingo .. ppl wont see you online for that profile.. Good luck .. try ths out.. Shud help you.
