Are you kidding me? How old are you ? 15? Myspace will never shut down. If for some reason that is not working it could be because of power outages where their server is or the server is just too busy.

They own lots of newspapers, especially in the UK and Australia, they own some of the biggest movie studios (20th Century Fox), they own DirecTV, they own the Fox network, including Fox News, FX, Turner South, and lots more - they publish magazines, they own the Harper Collins publishing house.
MySpace is a huge profit generator for News Corp.
It's not working right now. I'm sure they're desperately trying to fix whatever is wrong with it. It may be a virus, it may have been a deliberate attack of vandalism, it may have been an error that occurred when they were transferring data from one server to another, who knows?
Take a deep breath. Pick up the phone. Call one of the friends that you usually chat with on MySpace. Try to remember the good old days when you actually SPOKE to people. MySpace will be back - whether it's tonight or tomorrow - it'll be back soon. Life will go on!

as much as we would all wish it the answer is no. they are just having server downtime.
Whoever, this Tom dude is, he is lying through his teeth saying it is caused by a power failure.
MySpace was hacked this week and just a visit to MySpace caused hundreds of thousands of peoples computers to become infected with malware.
They are no doubt down right now, trying to patch their servers.
