Answers:
When discussing bearer and data channels, these are components of ISDN service. ISDN in the USA comes in two different flavors.

Flavor 1 is Basic Rate ISDN service (BRI) which consists of 2 Bearer channels (usually called B channesls) that each have 64k of bandwidth and one data channel (referred to as the D channel) that has 16k of bandwidth. The signalling for dialing etc is all done on the D channel leaving the full bandwidth of the B channels available to move data.

Flavor 2 is Primary Rate ISDN (PRI) which has 23 Bearer (B channels) of 64k each and 1 data channel (D channel) of 64k (larger because it's handling signaling for more B channels). This service is delivered on a T1 facility.
