a freinds has a laptop mac thats running slow, how do you clean a mac?
it's a powerbook g4 and i know nothing about macs, any info woudl be helpfull
Answers:
1) see how much RAM is installed on the Mac, how much free disk space it has, the CPU speed, and the version of OS X running on it. If the RAM is less than 512MB, that would strongly contribute to it being slow. If the free disk space is less than 20%, ditto.
2) If Mac is running Norton antivirus/firewall, purchase Intego Netbarrier/VirusBarrier and remove Norton. In my experience, Norton slows down Macs (regardless of CPU speed and RAM) by 60-75% at startup, and 50%+ when launching applications.
