after fromatting?
I run windows XP and i have formatted my computer my drivers were all recoverd automatically but nothing works for ie:
~ikernal.exe FOR setup files dont work so i cant install anything
~windows installer can not be found like windows media

I would need to know what you mean by "I Formatted". From your question I am guessing you did not reformat your system drive and re-install windows, otherwise you wouldnt have had to recover anything. If you re-formatted a secondary drive that you had some portion of your system software stored on such as IE then you face having to re-install IE. This cannot be done from the windows update site however IE is available as a seperate download on Microsofts site the following is a link to their site with several of the windows components available including IE 6 SP1. If you are having issues with missing drivers for hardware you are going to have to locate the www sites for each piece of hardware and download the drivers and install them seperately.

If your aim in the re-format was to reinitialize windows I suggest you back up your data then do a clean install of windows, if its XP you place the cd in the cd rom drive then insure the BIOS is set to boot from the CD, then at start up when prompted touch a key to boot from the cd, then select the options to install windows (Do Not select Recover, it rarely works especially given what you have already done) when you get to the section for selecting the drive to install on select the C drive and delete the partition, this will ensure a clean install, once you are back to the drive select screen select the empty partition you just made as the install drive, then when prompted select the option to format it with NTFS, after that point its just a matter of following the prompts untill the install is completed, once completed I recommend you do a full update with several trips to the windows update site untill you have all the available updates. Once you finish that you can begin re-installing any Software you want, and or hardware drivers for things like webcams etc...

If you reformatted you removed all programs and data files. You will have to install IE again.
